Injectable Pre and Post Treatment Care
Pre Treatment
Please refrain from wearing makeup to your appointment, as it is essential to minimize the risk of infection during your injection procedure. Although our team will make every effort to thoroughly remove any makeup, it is safer to arrive without any makeup applied.
To ensure the best results and reduce the likelihood of bruising or bleeding in the injection area, we recommend avoiding alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, fish oil, St. John’s Wort, oral Vitamin E, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for 24 hours before your treatment.
If you are currently taking anti-coagulation medications (Warfarin, Coumadin, Heparin, Lovenox, Enoxaparin, Lepirudin, Refludan, Ticlopidine Ticlid, Clopidogrel, Plavix, Tirofiban, Aggrastat, Eptifibatide, Integrilin), it’s essential to discuss this with your healthcare provider before your treatment, as it may impact your eligibility for cosmetic dermal filler procedures.
For individuals prone to cold sores (oral herpes simplex), it is advisable to take prescribed medication (Famvir, Famciclovir, Valtrex, Valacyclovir, Acyclovir) as directed within 24 hours prior to your treatment.
Please inform V2 MedSpa promptly if you develop a cold sore, acne, or open lesions in the treatment area or experience any illness before your scheduled appointment. Keep us updated about any changes in your health history, medications, pregnancy status, or attempts to become pregnant since your last visit.
If you have previously used Accutane within the past 6 months, please notify Opulent Aesthetics, as it may affect your eligibility for treatment with dermal fillers.
After your dermal filler procedure, avoid applying pressure or touching the treated area for the first six hours. You can gently cleanse the area with a suitable cleanser and water, and makeup can be resumed after this period.
Refrain from vigorous scrubbing, exfoliation, or receiving facial treatments in the treated area for 72 hours.
Should you experience signs of infection or develop persistent symptoms such as warmth, discharge, pus, pain, or discomfort at the injection site, or if you develop a fever, please contact Opulent Aesthetics for assistance.
Consider using oral or topical Arnica Montana, an herbal supplement, to help reduce bruising resulting from cosmetic treatments, unless you have liver or kidney issues.
For pain or discomfort, utilize cool packs and over-the-counter analgesics such as Acetaminophen (Tylenol). Report severe pain to Opulent Aesthetics immediately.
Refrain from manipulating the treated area unless otherwise instructed by your healthcare practitioner.
If you received Sculptra injections, remember to massage the treated area for 5 minutes at a time, 5 times a day, for 5 consecutive days to prevent the formation of nodules. This step is crucial for successful Sculptra results (5x5x5).
It is normal to experience the following post-treatment:
Swelling may begin within 1-2 hours of treatment and should subside within 48-72 hours.
Significant swelling in the undereye and lip areas is normal and can be improved by elevating your head with extra pillows and staying adequately hydrated. Lips may swell up to three times their normal size, which is not indicative of an allergy. During this time, it’s advisable to avoid excessively salty foods, as they may exacerbate undereye swelling.
Aching discomfort is common, especially in the lips, cheeks, and chin. Tylenol (NOT Advil) and cool compresses can help alleviate discomfort.

WRINKLE RELAXER POST-TREATMENT GUIDELINES:
For Dysport, it may take up to 7 days, and for Botox, up to 14 days, to witness the full effects of your treatment.
We strongly recommend scheduling a follow-up visit between 10 days to 2 weeks, especially if you’re a first-time client, to assess the results and consider additional treatments if necessary. In cases where full correction is not achieved, additional Botox/Dysport/Xeomin for injection may be required, and we provide free asymmetry corrections.
Consider using oral or topical Arnica Montana, an herbal supplement known to reduce bruising resulting from cosmetic treatments. However, if you have liver or kidney problems, it is advisable not to take Arnica Montana.
Typically, re-treatment is needed at around 4 months for ongoing wrinkle relaxation, with the aim of achieving longer-lasting results.
If you’ve had your horizontal forehead lines treated and feel that your eyebrows appear too heavy, please communicate this to your provider. Adjustments to the treatment dose may be needed to optimize your results.
In the event your upper lip was treated, it’s important to note that you may experience temporary difficulties such as not being able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks.

Post-procedure expectations: Post-treatment, individuals can typically resume their regular routine. However, for at least 4 hours following the injections, it’s best to refrain from wearing makeup, undertaking strenuous exercise, or lying down. Additionally, one should abstain from touching or pressing the treated region for a day.
